this early morning it was a rare opportunity to watch four worlds—Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter—in the closest planetary grouping yet seen this century.
This rare event is happening when these four planets align together in a row. This will happen again, but no sooner than 2040 September (2056 according to other sources)

Since I created a panorama of the Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory, I might as well try my hand in processing the image using a "Polar Panorama Effect." This technique takes a panoramic image and uses the Polar Coordinates filter of Photoshop to create a circular image that seems to wrap the panorama around a planet.

Sedona is home to many types of folks, including vortex-lovers, retirees, escaped-Californians and perhaps aliens. The Red Planet Diner is a delightful and unusual eatery on the main drag in downtown Sedona. I spent as much time taking photos of the fascinating interior as I did eating my lunch. For a sci-fi lover, this is the place to be for a casual lunch or drink in town.
